Thankfully you can someway increase your population limited in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. To do so, all you have to do is build houses; each house increases your population by 10, all the way to 200. You then can expand to 250 using cards.

Many Mods increase population limit, which is a good indication many players want more population for bigger armies.Unfortunately, the last game patch from Feb 25 has disabled all mods.None of the mods is working now.


Population, also known as the population cap, is a limit to the total number of units a player can field on the map. It is normally determined by the number of Town Centers and Houses that have been built. In most Age of Empires titles, the maximum population cap can be adjusted in the settings tab of each game set up. In some analyses, population may be considered a type of resource.


In Age of Mythology, the maximum population cap is 300. However, the player may not always be able to reach the maximum population cap, as the player will need enough Settlements to do so. Most of the time, the population limit will depend on how many Settlements the player has captured. In campaigns and standard games (where there are only few players), it is not possible to meet the maximum population cap of 300, as there is a limited number of Settlements.


The Atlanteans can build a maximum of 5 Manors, while other cultures can build a maximum of 10 Houses, which will equivalent to 100 population slots. Assuming the player has the starting Town Center (without the Fortified Town Center upgrade), the initial population limit should be 115. The population limit can be increased by capturing more Settlements, until enough has been built to reach the game population limit of 300.


In Age of Empires III, the population cap is 200. The Chinese civilization's population cap is 220 and the Haudenosaunee can reach 225 (if a maximum amount of Villagers perform the Earth Mother Ceremony in the Community Plaza). The Lakota civilization starts with their population cap already at the maximum without the need to build Houses. It is also possible to increase the population cap by +5 by gathering the respective treasure in some maps.


Unlike its predecessors Age of Empires I and II, different population costs are allotted to different classes of units based on their cost and performance, in order to maintain balance. Almost all civilian units (such as Settlers, Villagers, Coureur des Bois, Priests, and Surgeons) take up one population slot, with the exception of Settler Wagons and Architects. Wagons, Travois, and Rickshaws do not take any population slot. Most infantry take one population slot, with the exception of some stronger and expensive units (Abus Gunners, Doppelsoldners etc.). Cavalry, Outlaws, and powerful units such as mercenaries and artillery mostly take up more than one population slot. Heroes, Pets, Disciples, Eagle Scouts, Warrior Priests, Warships, and Minor civilization military units do not take population slots. Instead, they have a restriction of small build limit. Healers are the only civilian units that do not take population slots and also do not have a build limit.


So many of you have been complaining that my previous file didn't work for you, so I have fixed and updated it for African Royals and the American civ via a different method. Before, my mod worked for me, and I have tested this new version and it works aswell. So what this does is set the population of every unit that originally had a population value of 2 or above to 0, aswell as increase the build limit of all defensive building to 99. Therefore, troops that occupy 1 population and Settlers still occupy 1 population (couldn't work around it in a way that doesn't break the game).


They should make 1 pop for villagers then they will be fixed. Also, please make building stronger , and more expensive with higher building time. if you will (please do , I did in past and it was amazing and realistic) double damage and hitpoinst and range on buildings. Limited population for settlers natives but , unlimited for soldiers etc.


For those that enjoy a mass attack, this mod by Luissey is what you need. It converts the normal population cost of a unit to 0, and with the cap never being reached you basically have an unlimited number of soldiers to throw into the fray. The mod also increases the decay time on corpses from 300 seconds to five minutes to let you survey the carnage of massive battles a little longer or use it as a warning to others.


This free download not only sets a higher limit on buildings, it heavily extends the population cap, modernizes the graphics and sounds, and provides some general quality of life improvements. It brings the game into the modern age and it's a great way to keep the game alive and fresh for new and veteran Age Of Empires players alike.


A low population limit can be a real impediment to your growing colony in any Age of Empires game. It can prevent you from creating military units when you need them most, and from being able to create the economic units to gather resources. Generally, it is advisable to always have the highest possible population limit as a contingency plan even though you might never create or need that many units.


Ottoman are pretty tough to take out. With their ability to get anti-rush units, plus their ability to boom quite loudly, they can be tough to beat. Their weakness lies in their early difficulty of getting their economy in order. When you fight them, hit them as early as possible and try taking out their Houses. Killing Settlers is useful, but the auto-spawn will lessen the blow. Taking out Houses, however, will actually give the Ottoman problems because of the constant Settler spawning. While they're wasting time and wood trying to get their population limit back up, you can reinforce your army and possibly hit them again to mobility kill or outright kill them.


Whether your unit build order is amassing tons of villagers in the Dark Age or longbowmen in the Castle Age, knowing the population cap in Age of Empires 4 is as important as it has ever been. But what is the pop cap and how do you increase it? The population cap in Age of Empires 4 is 200, the same as almost every other game in the popular RTS franchise except the original Age of Empires. Indeed, there are a few other similarities to keep in mind when increasing your population of villagers and military units.


These structures increase the pop cap for every civilization except the Mongols, which begin each match at the 200 unit limit automatically. The Mongols do not have Houses, and the civ's Town Center does not add to the overall limit.


Unlike Age of Empires 2 and Age 3, there are no options for increasing the overall pop limit of 200 or starting at the max population in Skirmish mode, and since there is no map editor or scenario editor in Age 4, there is no way to set a higher cap otherwise. At least until those features are added at a later date.


@Arosc of course i did man, i mean, first i opened data.bar to check if modifications are there, and they are, then i also put XMB files that i modified in Data folder just to see will it work that way, but nope, it still does not show deck increase. I also reinstalled the game, for everything to be clean and replaced data.bar file, but still it does not work, though no cost population works, gonna test if settler population cost did not break AI. But i would like to fix this deck modification primarily. What version is your game, maybe thats the problem!? As for last resort, i would use your data.bar instead of mine to see will it work. The units of Age of Empires III are based, as in previous iterations of the game, around military classes of the historic time period. The player controls a variety of civilian and military units, and uses them to expand and develop their civilization, as well as wage war against opponents. The base unit of a game is the settler, responsible for gathering resources and constructing buildings, in order to improve the economy of the civilization. The number of units a player can control in a scenario is limited by a "population limit", a common real-time strategy game mechanic. Houses and town centers raise the starting limit, to a maximum of 200, while each unit that is produced increases the population count. Basic units such as settlers and infantry count as 1, but others, including most cavalry and mercenary infantry count as 2. More powerful units, especially artillery or mercenary cavalry, can count for a population as high as 7. Native warriors, explorers, tamed and grazing animals, hot air balloons and warships do not count towards the population limit, but generally have a build limit, allowing the player to deploy only a certain number of those specific units at a time.


The only way to increase the population is by constructing Houses or more Town Centers, which is available for every Civilization. The higher the population, the more units can be trained within the civilization.


Your starting resourcesEach player begins a match with one Town Center and three Villagers. They will also start with a standard number of resources. Players will also be able to view their current population, their population limit, and number of idle Villagers. All this information is visible in the upper-left corner of the screen:


The increase of the world population should evoke more than doom and gloom however. First of all, this increase shows a tremendous achievement. It shows that humans stopped dying at the rate at which our ancestors died for the many millennia before.

FOOD Set the amount of food to 50000. WOOD Set the amount of wood to 50000. COIN Set the amount of coin to 50000. EXPERIENCE Increase your amount of experience by 1000. Eventually leads to faster level up. SHIPMENTS Increase your amount of shipments by 10. POPULATION Increase your total sustainable population by 100. CARDS Set the amount of cards to 99. I recommend that you invoke this hack in the Home Cities menu before you enter the Choose New Cards menu. The cards value is not updated to screen as often as food, wood and coin for example so to get the proper value displayed on screen it is wise to invoke this hack just before you enter the Choose New Cards menu. CUSTOMIZATIONS Set the amount of customizations to 99. The same goes for CUSTOMIZATIONS as for CARDS to get the proper value displayed, so invoke this hack in the Home Cities menu before you enter the Customize menu. INSTANT IMPROVEMENTS You don't have to wait when you order improvements like you would normally have to. This includes Age Advances. INSTANT BUILDING You don't have to wait when you build buildings like you would normally have to. INSTANT TRAINING You don't have to wait when you train units like you would normally have to. INSTANT ABILITIES You don't have to wait for abilities to "recharge" like you would normally have to. For example Sharpshooter Attack of the Explorer and Broadside Attack of the Frigate. NO POPULATION LIMIT The POPULATION hack allows you to increase your total sustainable population by 100. However the game is hard coded not to tolerate any total sustainable population value above 200 regardless of what the total sustainable population value actually is. This hack fixes this problem and thus it is closely related to the POPULATION hack. To avoid accusations of "miscounting" I shall count POPULATION hack and the NO POPULATION LIMIT as one option - yet I wish keep them separate as they deal with two different things. INSTANT SHIPMENTS You don't have to wait for shipments to arrive from the Home City like you would normally have to. IMMORTALITY All your units and buildings become immune to damage. You can still kill your own units by selecting them and pressing the DELETE button. Since all your units become immune to damage this includes your Sheep and Cows, so if you order one of your Settlers to kill a Cow or a Sheep he won't succeed. If you insist on gathering food from these animals with this hack activated then you can use DELETE first to put down the animal and then order your Settler to gather food from the dead animal food source. NO BUILD LIMIT Some units and buildings have a limit on how many of them you can build. For example you can only build one Church/Temple after which you are not allowed to build any more. The Church/Temple is probably not the best example because you really don't need a lot of those. However there are also Build Limits on other types of units and buildings like Settlers (99) and also some military units. Notice that once you activate this hack Build Limits will be removed from all units and buildings which "icons" you reveal. For example if you activate the hack and click a Settler all buildings that a Settler can build will loose their Build Limit. If you click a Barracks all units that a Barracks can train will loose their Build Limit. If you then decide to deactivate this hack again the original Build Limits won't be restored until you restart the map or select a different map or campaign mission etc. INSTANT REPAIR You don't have to wait for building repairs like you would normally have to.
